One island, two landings
LCA is the usual door for the east and south-east. PFO belongs to Paphos and the west. A connection via another country is rarely necessary from London in summer. Take it only if it restores a cabin bag or avoids an airport you cannot reach at 05:00.
Which London airport actually fits
Several London airports sell Cyprus. None is reliably cheapest. Count the train from home, the airline’s bag rules, and whether the arrival is LCA or PFO. Night flights save a hotel night and punish anyone without a prebooked transfer.
London airports — quick compare
| Airport | Best For | Main Advantage | Main Drawback |
|---|---|---|---|
| Heathrow (LHR) | West London; full-service | Frequency / connections | Peak queues; often dearer headlines |
| Gatwick (LGW) | South / south-east | Strong leisure short-haul | Awkward from north of the river |
| Stansted (STN) | North-east / Essex; low headlines | Often cheapest ticket | Express + cross-London time |
| Luton (LTN) | North / M1 corridor | Regular low-cost schedules | Early starts; DART/coach hops |
Airlines on this route
easyJet, Ryanair, Jet2, TUI and Cyprus Airways appear. Compare LCA (Larnaca) vs PFO (Paphos) against your resort.
The ride to the hotel
Prebooked transfers are the default after midnight. A hire car at the airport only helps if you are awake enough to drive on the left to a resort you have not seen. The Cyprus stays guide is the place to weigh Paphos versus Larnaca versus Ayia Napa.
Bags and the rest of the week
Many London–Cyprus fares include only a small personal item. Two people for seven nights can erase the gap to a more inclusive fare. Browse Cyprus experiences if you want mosaics, Akamas boats or a Troodos day rather than only the pool.
